Podcasts
Beyond reading about human psychology and social work I regularly listen to psychology podcasts to stay informed about current research and diverse perspectives within the field.
I will post relevant podcasts in the future.
Photography
Photography is a creative outlet I enjoy. You can even see one of my photos featured on the cover page of this website.
Technology & Programming
I have a strong interest in technology and am responsible for the administration of this server and the creation of all web content. I primarily work with Python, focusing on text manipulation and automation.
A particular project I enjoy is converting my books to audio format for review while waking or driving. This involves preparing the text using Python and then utilizing AI tools to create natural-sounding audio-books.
I have also spent time exploring AI supported RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for use with in accessing a private a knowledge base to access relevant information in complex written language. This process utilizes creation of structured knowledge graphs in addition to traditional vector databases for data retrieval.
Some previous projects include setup and administration of Mastodon Social Network Server and BRIAR secure messaging anywhere allowing off network phone to phone / peer to peer messaging over Bluetooth, WI-FI, or Tor.
Second Chance Boxer Rescue
When I have the time, I volunteer with
Second Chance Boxer Rescue. This includes fostering boxers in need and assisting with the transport of animals to their forever homes.
You can view a few of my fosters on my Flickr page.
